Anupriya Lakra is the first tribal women from Odisha’s maoist-hit district called Malkangiri District to became the first female from the backward region.
Anupriya Lakra is a girl of twenty three year. Her dream of becoming a pilot came to reality seven year after she quit engineering in the midway and joined an aviation academy. From her childhood she had a dream or passion of becoming a pilot and for that she quit Engineering in the half in Bhubaneswar and she prepared for pilot entrance test in Bhubaneswar.
In the year 2012, Anupriya joined the pilot training institute and she worked very hard to archive her dream.
Her father Mariniyas Lakra, a Havildar in Odisha police service and her mother Jamaj Yashmin Lakra a house wife. Anupriya completed her matriculation from a convent school in the district of Malkangiri and higher secondary from a school in semiliguda.
She has been selected as a co-pilot in a private airline and is likely to fly abroad shortly.
It’s very big achievement for somebody from backward district like Malkangiri. Anupriya said that she succeed after seven year of continuous hard work.
Over the jubilant success of Anupriya, her mother said “I am very happy and we are proud of our child and it is also a matter of pride for the people of Malkangiri. And her success will inspire other girls too. Anupriya was always encouraged to make efforts to convert her dream into reality,” her mother said.
Odisha’s Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik has congratulated Lakra for her extra ordinary achievement and gravel, and said it will set an example to follow or grab the path.
